Microsoft has announced the lineup for March 2019’s Games with Gold and, in terms of indie titles, it’s disappointing.
The games to be included are Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion, Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2, Star Wars: Republic Commando, and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
That said, Adventure Time: Pirates of the Enchiridion was developed by UK developer Climax Studios with just over 100 staff members, though it would be weird to call any game with a tie-in to a massive television series an indie game.

Plants vs. Zombies’ roots (pun intended) are that of an indie title. However, PopCap Games has been a subsidiary of EA for almost a decade now.
As for Star Wars: Republic Commando and Platinum Games’ Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, they couldn’t be further from indie games.
While it’s not a terrible lineup, we would have loved to have seen a nice little indie gem to sink our teeth into.
